Are we going to borrow more than we have so far?
The budget of Montenegro will be under great challenges, said professor at the Faculty of Management in Herceg Novi and president of the Montenegrin Association of Employers (CUP) Vasilije Kostic in an interview for CdM.
Kostic is clear – the IMF’s estimates of the budget deficit of 6% are well-founded because the pace on the side of budget expenditures on the basis of various types of social benefits is stronger at the expense of providing budget funds from real sources.
“As things stand now, and they are not good at all, our budget will be facing great challenges, first because of its immanent overstrain – because of the mentioned socio-political motives, which in itself does not have to be necessarily bad, but also because of the things that are to follow or characterize the current economic situation, predominantly marked by strong inflationary tendencies supported by reduced production and disrupted supply chains of products, services and energy, additioanlly seriously intensified due to the war in Ukraine which has no end in sight”, he said.
