 Top destination – Bar visited by 14.000 cruise ship tourists in 20 days

In the first month of spring, 14,000 tourists and around 4,900 crew members arrived in Bar for one day on cruise ships, which is a record number of guests for the pre-season period. According to announcements from the Port of Adria company, whose docks are visited by cruise ships, this year’s cruising season in Bar will last seven months.

The cruising season was opened on March 31 by the megacruiser „Sun Princess“, of the American company „Princess Cruises“, on which 4.408 passengers and about 1.600 crew members arrived.

According to the maritime agent for American cruisers, the megacruiser „Sun Princess“ will be in front of the company Boka Adriatic doo. Jovan Moric and close this year’s cruising season in Bar, October 26.

Moric points out that the number of cruise ships that sail into Bar increases from year to year, and consequently the number of tourists.

For more than 10 years, cruise ships have docked at the piers of the Port of Adria company, the privatized part of the port of Bar, and this year’s cruising season will be a record one.

The arrival of 29 cruise ships in the port of Bar was confirmed, which is seven passenger ships more than in 2025. Over 100.000 guests will arrive in Bar on one day from March 31 to the end of October on mega cruise ships and smaller passenger ships.

Apart from this megacruiser „Sun Princess“, Celebrity Ascent, Costa Deliziosa and Norwegian Pearl, cruise ships of the MSC company, will also sail to Bar during the season as luxury smaller passenger ships, which further confirms the growing trend of Bar on the Mediterranean cruising map.

The Tourist Organization of Bar emphasizes the multiple significance of cruise tourism, which is reflected in the extension of the tourist season, which will last seven months in 2026, the possibility for tourists to see and familiarize themselves with the contents of the destination, and ultimately to plan a longer vacation on the Bar Riviera.

Tourists who arrive in Bar by cruise ships come from all continents, from America, Western Europe, Australia, Africa. Also, from Asian countries.

Let’s recall that on April 21, two megacruisers „Sun Princess“ and „Costa Deliziosa“ were in the port of Bar on the piers of the Port of Adria company in one day. On that day, 52 buses were hired for organized excursions from cruise ships, as well as 30 buses for transporting tourists from the port to the beginning of the King Nikola Promenade.
